Does Canary support 2FA?

canary.isIoTNot yet

Canary does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. Canary does offer 2FA via SMS text message — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if Canary adds it.

2FA methods Canary supports

  • SMS text message

Canary does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.

How to keep your Canary account secure

Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method Canary offers, and stay alert to phishing. See Canary's official security documentation ↗. If Canary adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
