Does Carleton University support 2FA?
Carleton University does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. Carleton University does offer 2FA via its own app, a hardware token, SMS text message and phone call — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if Carleton University adds it.
2FA methods Carleton University supports
- Proprietary app
- Hardware token
- SMS text message
- Phone call
Carleton University does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.
How to keep your Carleton University account secure
Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method Carleton University offers, and stay alert to phishing. See Carleton University's official security documentation ↗. If Carleton University adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
