Does GroupMe support 2FA?
GroupMe does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. GroupMe does offer 2FA via SMS text message — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if GroupMe adds it.
2FA methods GroupMe supports
- SMS text message
GroupMe does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.
How to keep your GroupMe account secure
Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method GroupMe offers, and stay alert to phishing. See GroupMe's official security documentation ↗. If GroupMe adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
