Does Mail.Ru support 2FA?
Mail.Ru does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. Mail.Ru does offer 2FA via SMS text message and a security key — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if Mail.Ru adds it.
2FA methods Mail.Ru supports
- SMS text message
- Security key (U2F / WebAuthn)
Mail.Ru does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.
How to keep your Mail.Ru account secure
Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method Mail.Ru offers, and stay alert to phishing. See Mail.Ru's official security documentation ↗. If Mail.Ru adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
