Does McAfee support 2FA?
McAfee does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. McAfee does offer 2FA via SMS text message — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if McAfee adds it.
2FA methods McAfee supports
- SMS text message
McAfee does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.
How to keep your McAfee account secure
Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method McAfee offers, and stay alert to phishing. See McAfee's official security documentation ↗. If McAfee adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
