Does o2 support 2FA?
o2 does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. o2 does offer 2FA via a security key and its own app — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if o2 adds it.
2FA methods o2 supports
- Security key (U2F / WebAuthn)
- Proprietary app
o2 does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.
How to keep your o2 account secure
Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method o2 offers, and stay alert to phishing. See o2's official security documentation ↗. If o2 adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
