Does Optum Bank support 2FA?
Optum Bank does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. Optum Bank does offer 2FA via SMS text message and email code — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if Optum Bank adds it.
2FA methods Optum Bank supports
- SMS text message
- Email code
Optum Bank does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.
How to keep your Optum Bank account secure
Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method Optum Bank offers, and stay alert to phishing. See Optum Bank's official security documentation ↗. If Optum Bank adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
