Does Truist support 2FA?
Truist does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. Truist does offer 2FA via SMS text message, phone call and email code — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if Truist adds it.
2FA methods Truist supports
- SMS text message
- Phone call
- Email code
Truist does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.
How to keep your Truist account secure
Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method Truist offers, and stay alert to phishing. If Truist adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
