Does Cisco Umbrella support 2FA?
Cisco Umbrella does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. Cisco Umbrella does offer 2FA via SMS text message — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if Cisco Umbrella adds it.
2FA methods Cisco Umbrella supports
- SMS text message
Cisco Umbrella does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.
How to keep your Cisco Umbrella account secure
Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method Cisco Umbrella offers, and stay alert to phishing. See Cisco Umbrella's official security documentation ↗. If Cisco Umbrella adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
