Does uOttawa support 2FA?

uottawa.caEducationNot yet

uOttawa does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. uOttawa does offer 2FA via its own app and a hardware token — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if uOttawa adds it.

2FA methods uOttawa supports

  • Proprietary app
  • Hardware token

uOttawa does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.

How to keep your uOttawa account secure

Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method uOttawa offers, and stay alert to phishing. See uOttawa's official security documentation ↗. If uOttawa adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
