Does University of Toronto support 2FA?
University of Toronto does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. University of Toronto does offer 2FA via its own app and a hardware token — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if University of Toronto adds it.
2FA methods University of Toronto supports
- Proprietary app
- Hardware token
University of Toronto does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.
How to keep your University of Toronto account secure
Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method University of Toronto offers, and stay alert to phishing. See University of Toronto's official security documentation ↗. If University of Toronto adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
