Does AT&T support 2FA?

att.comUtilitiesNot yet

AT&T does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. AT&T does offer 2FA via SMS text message — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if AT&T adds it.

2FA methods AT&T supports

  • SMS text message

AT&T does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.

How to keep your AT&T account secure

Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method AT&T offers, and stay alert to phishing. See AT&T's official security documentation ↗. If AT&T adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
