Does BT support 2FA?
BT does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. BT does offer 2FA via email code and SMS text message — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if BT adds it.
2FA methods BT supports
- Email code
- SMS text message
BT does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.
How to keep your BT account secure
Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method BT offers, and stay alert to phishing. See BT's official security documentation ↗. If BT adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
