Does ComEd support 2FA?

comed.comUtilitiesNot yet

ComEd does not currently support authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication. ComEd does offer 2FA via SMS text message, phone call and email code — better than nothing, but an authenticator app is the more secure option if ComEd adds it.

2FA methods ComEd supports

  • SMS text message
  • Phone call
  • Email code

ComEd does not offer an authenticator-app (TOTP) option yet. Authenticator apps are safer than SMS, so it's worth requesting.

How to keep your ComEd account secure

Use a long, unique password (a password manager helps), turn on any 2FA method ComEd offers, and stay alert to phishing. See ComEd's official security documentation ↗. If ComEd adds authenticator-app support, you'll be able to use MS Authenticator App.
