Allegro 2FA: How to Set Up an Authenticator App

allegro.pl SupportedChecked against official help · September 25, 2026

Your Allegro account is where you buy and sell on Allegro. Allegro calls the feature two-step login ("dwustopniowe logowanie"): after your login and password you enter a one-time code, which you can get by SMS or generate in an app such as Authenticator App - Novaz.

Your Allegro account stores addresses, order history, and sometimes saved cards, which makes it a common target. Besides an authenticator app, Allegro also offers SMS text codes. An authenticator app (TOTP) is usually the best balance of security and convenience — and it's safer than SMS codes, which can be intercepted through SIM-swap attacks.

2FA methods Allegro supports

  • SMS text message
  • Authenticator app (TOTP)

Before you start

  • Your Allegro login or email address and password
  • Phone-number login switched off, because Allegro won't turn on two-step login while it's on. To switch it off, open the "Login and password" ("Logowanie i hasło") tab and click "turn off" ("wyłącz") in the "Phone number login" ("Logowanie numerem telefonu") section
  • A phone number that can receive SMS, because Allegro asks for one for emergency codes at the end of the app setup
  • Authenticator App - Novaz installed on your iPhone or iPad
  • Allegro open in a browser on a computer, so the QR code is on a different screen from your phone

Part 1: Turn on 2FA in Allegro

  1. 1

    Open the Two-step login tab

Sign in to Allegro and open the "Two-step login" ("Dwustopniowe logowanie") tab at allegro.pl/moje-allegro/moje-konto/dwustopniowe-logowanie. Click "let's start" ("zaczynamy").

  2. 2

    Choose codes from an app

Select that you want to use an app to generate codes, then click "next" ("dalej").

  3. 3

    Choose your device type

Select the type of device you'll generate codes on and click "next" ("dalej"). On a mobile device, Allegro recognises it automatically and skips this step.

  4. 4

Keep the QR code on screen

Allegro shows short setup instructions and a QR code. If you can't scan it, click "Show code" ("Pokaż kod") to see it as text.

Part 2: Add Allegro to Authenticator App - Novaz

  1. 5

Add Allegro in Authenticator App - Novaz

Open Authenticator App - Novaz, tap the + button and scan the QR code, or choose to enter a setup key and type the text code exactly as shown. Check the account name, then tap "Save".

Part 3: Confirm and finish

  1. 6

Enter the code and turn it on

Back on Allegro, click "next" ("dalej"). Type the current code from Authenticator App - Novaz and click "turn on" ("włącz").

  2. 7

Add a number for emergency SMS codes

For safety, give the phone number that should receive emergency SMS codes when you can't use the app. Pick a number already on your account from the list or enter a new one, click "send code" ("wyślij kod") and type the code from the SMS. Two-step login is now on.

  3. 8

    Trust your own devices (optional)

On a device only you use, tick "Don't ask for a code on this device" ("Nie pytaj o kod na tym urządzeniu") when you enter a code at login, or click "add to trusted" ("dodaj do zaufanych") in the "Trusted devices" ("Zaufane urządzenia") section of the Two-step login tab.

  4. 9

Save a way to recover your account

If Allegro offers backup or recovery codes, download them or write them down and store them somewhere safe. They are how you get back into your account if you ever lose your phone. If it doesn't, check how Allegro recovers accounts before you need it.

If something goes wrong

  • Allegro rejects the code from the app: make sure your iPhone sets its date and time automatically (Settings > General > Date & Time), then enter the newest code.
  • The emergency SMS doesn't arrive: log in another way, for example with the app code, and check the number on the Two-step login tab. It can differ from the number in your account details; change it under "Text message" ("Wiadomość SMS") > "change settings" ("zmień ustawienia").
  • A trusted device asks for a code again: Allegro remembers trusted devices with cookies, so clearing cookies, changing browser settings, another browser or private (incognito) mode means it no longer recognises the device.

How to recover your Allegro account

Allegro's help doesn't describe backup codes for two-step login. Your fallback is the emergency SMS number you add during the app setup: Allegro sends codes there when you don't have access to the app, so keep it up to date on the Two-step login tab. If the SMS doesn't reach you and you can't log in any other way, contact Allegro using the "contact us" ("skontaktuj się z nami") button below its help article on regaining access to your account.

Frequently asked questions

Will Allegro ask for a code every time I log in?
Not on trusted devices. Allegro asks for a code when you use an unknown device or someone tries to break into your account.
Can I get codes by SMS instead of an app?
Yes. After "let's start" ("zaczynamy") you choose SMS codes or an app. With the app, Allegro still asks for a phone number for emergency SMS codes.
Do I need a code if I log in with a passkey?
No. After a passkey login, Allegro doesn't ask for the extra two-step confirmation, but other login methods still ask for a code.
How do I turn two-step login off?
Open the Two-step login tab, click "turn off" ("wyłącz") next to the message "Two-step login is on" ("Dwustopniowe logowanie jest włączone") and confirm your choice.
