Save a way to recover your account

If Bittrex offers backup or recovery codes, download them or write them down and store them somewhere safe. They are how you get back into your account if you ever lose your phone. If it doesn't, check how Bittrex recovers accounts before you need it.

If something goes wrong

  • Bittrex says the code is invalid: set your iPhone's date and time to update automatically in Settings > General > Date & Time, then try again.
  • The code changed before you pasted it: wait for the next 30-second code and copy that one right away.
  • You can't find the Bittrex email: check your spam folder and confirm you're looking at the address linked to your Bittrex account.
  • The QR code won't scan: zoom in on the Bittrex page or brighten your screen, and keep your phone steady.

How to recover your Bittrex account

If you lose access to your authenticator and Bittrex gave you backup or recovery codes when you turned on 2FA, sign in with one of them; keep them somewhere safe, away from your phone. Not every service issues codes. If Bittrex doesn't, or you didn't save them, use Bittrex's account-recovery or support process (or ask your admin, for a work account) to get back in.
