Jotform 2FA: How to Set Up an Authenticator App

jotform.com SupportedChecked against official help · September 25, 2026

Your Jotform account holds your forms and the submissions they collect. Jotform calls the feature two-factor authentication (2FA): after your password, you enter a time-based code from an authenticator app, so Authenticator App - Novaz can supply your codes.

A Jotform account holds campaigns and client data, so 2FA keeps it out of the wrong hands. Jotform secures sign-ins with an authenticator app — set it up once and you're protected on every login.

2FA methods Jotform supports

  • Authenticator app (TOTP)

Before you start

  • Your Jotform username or email address and password (Jotform asks for the password during setup)
  • Access to the email inbox linked to your Jotform account, because Jotform emails you a verification code before you can change security settings
  • Authenticator App - Novaz installed on your iPhone or iPad
  • Jotform open on a computer, and a safe place to copy or download your recovery codes

Part 1: Turn on 2FA in Jotform

  1. 1

    Open Settings

On your Workspace page, click your Profile Picture/Avatar at the top right, then click "Settings" in the menu. The Settings page opens in a new browser tab.

  2. 2

Verify it's you with an email code

Go to the "Security" tab on the left and click "Send Verification Code" in the Verification prompt. Copy the code sent to your account's email address and enter it. It's accepted automatically; if not, correct it and click "Verify".

  3. 3

    Turn on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Toggle on the switch on the right of the "Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)" section. In the "Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Confirmation" window, enter your account password and click "Verify".

Part 2: Add Jotform to Authenticator App - Novaz

  1. 4

Add Jotform in Authenticator App - Novaz

The "Configure the Authenticator App" window shows a QR code and a Setup Key. Open Authenticator App - Novaz, tap the + button and scan the QR code, or choose to enter a setup key and type the Setup Key exactly as shown. Check the account name, then tap "Save".

  2. 5

    Note the code

Authenticator App - Novaz now shows a time-based code for Jotform. Keep the app open for the next step.

Part 3: Confirm and finish

  1. 6

Enter the code and click Enable 2FA

Back in the "Configure the Authenticator App" window, enter the code in the boxes provided. It's accepted automatically; if not, correct it and click "Enable 2FA".

  2. 7

    Save your recovery codes

Before you close the window, copy or download your recovery codes and keep them somewhere safe and easy to find. Jotform then sends a confirmation email to the address linked to your account.

  3. 8

Log in with a code from now on

Every time you log in, Jotform asks for a verification code from your authenticator app after your password. Open Authenticator App - Novaz and enter the current Jotform code.

If something goes wrong

  • Jotform doesn't accept the app code: correct it and click "Enable 2FA". The codes are time-based, so make sure your iPhone sets its date and time automatically (Settings > General > Date & Time).
  • You don't have your phone when you log in: click "See other methods" and choose "Use your recovery codes".
  • You're switching to a new phone: toggle the "Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)" section off on the Security tab, then set it up again with Authenticator App - Novaz on the new phone.

How to recover your Jotform account

Jotform gives you recovery codes when you turn on 2FA, 9 to begin with. To use one, log in with your username or email and password, click "See other methods", choose "Use your recovery codes", enter a code and click "Verify". The number of recovery codes shown in your 2FA settings then goes down. If you've lost both your authenticator device and your recovery codes, you can still start recovery as long as you know your username or email and password: log in, click "See Other Methods", choose "I can't access my authentication device" and click "Recover Your Account". Open the verification email Jotform sends and click "Create Ticket". The ticket goes to the relevant Jotform team, which contacts you about recovery, and you get an email with the Ticket ID.
