Kick 2FA: How to Set Up an Authenticator App
Kick recommends that all viewers enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to protect their account from unwanted third-party access. Kick's setup uses an authenticator app with 6-digit codes, so Authenticator App - Novaz works wherever Kick's guide mentions Google Authenticator. You'll also need 2FA turned on before Kick lets you change your username.
A Kick account is linked to your profile and payment details, so 2FA is worth it. Kick secures sign-ins with an authenticator app — set it up once and you're protected on every login.
2FA methods Kick supports
- Authenticator app (TOTP)
Before you start
- Your Kick email address and password
- Authenticator App - Novaz installed on your iPhone or iPad
- Kick open in a browser, ideally on a computer, so the QR code is on a different screen from your phone
- Your iPhone set to update its date and time automatically, because Kick rejects codes from a phone whose clock is off
Part 1: Turn on 2FA in Kick
- 1
Open your channel security page
Sign in to Kick and go to your channel security page at kick.com/settings/security. Find the "Two-Factor Authentication" section with the "2FA" row.
- 2
Click Enable 2FA
Click the "Enable 2FA" button. An "Enable 2FA" window opens at "Step 1/2: Scan the QR code", with a QR code and, under "Or continue with", a text code you can copy.
Part 2: Add Kick to Authenticator App - Novaz
- 3
Add Kick in Authenticator App - Novaz
Open Authenticator App - Novaz, tap the + button and scan the QR code. If you're setting up on the same phone, tap the copy icon next to the code under "Or continue with", choose to enter a setup key in the app and paste it. Name the account "Kick" and tap "Save".
- 4
Find the 6-digit code
Authenticator App - Novaz now shows a 6-digit code for Kick. When you type it on Kick, use the code that's on screen at that moment, not one you noted earlier.
Part 3: Confirm and finish
- 5
Click Continue
Back on Kick, click "Continue" (Kick's help text calls it "Continue Setup"). The window moves to "Step 2/2: Enter the code".
- 6
Enter the code and continue
Type the 6-digit code from Authenticator App - Novaz into the boxes and click "Continue". The "2FA" row now says "Your 2FA has been configured successfully" and shows a "Remove 2FA" button.
- 7
Save a way to recover your account
If Kick offers backup or recovery codes, download them or write them down and store them somewhere safe. They are how you get back into your account if you ever lose your phone. If it doesn't, check how Kick recovers accounts before you need it.
If something goes wrong
- Kick says the code is invalid: make sure your iPhone sets its date and time automatically (Settings > General > Date & Time), then enter the code currently shown in Authenticator App - Novaz.
- Codes still fail after fixing the time: Kick says the account may have been removed from the authenticator. Follow the recovery steps below.
- You're getting a new phone: while you still have the old one, go to kick.com/settings/security, click "Remove 2FA" and "Yes, I'm sure" (Kick says you'll need a current code), then set up 2FA again on the new phone.
- You can't change your username: Kick requires 2FA to be enabled first, so complete the steps above and try again.

How to recover your Kick account
Kick's troubleshooting guide says you should have been given a set of one-time backup codes when you set up 2FA, though its setup guide doesn't show that screen. If Kick shows you backup codes, save them in a password manager. To use one, enter your password on the login screen and type a backup code when asked for the 2FA code; each code works once. If you've lost your phone but are still logged in to Kick elsewhere, such as a desktop browser, remove 2FA there and set it up again. Without backup codes, contact Kick: the setup guide says to email support@kick.com from the address on your account so they can remove 2FA, and the troubleshooting guide names the Cyber Security Team at security@kick.com. Include your Kick username, the 2FA method you used, what happened and whether you have backup codes. Be ready to prove you own the account, for example with past payment information or account creation details; Kick says it may not restore access if it can't verify you.
