Authenticator App - Novaz

Nvidia 2FA: How to Set Up an Authenticator App

nvidia.com Supported

Two-factor authentication guards the NVIDIA account you use for GeForce NOW, so a stolen password alone won't get anyone in. NVIDIA supports codes from an authenticator app, which means Authenticator App - Novaz can supply them.

A Nvidia account holds purchases, in-game items, and payment details that thieves can resell. Besides an authenticator app, Nvidia also offers email codes and security keys. An authenticator app (TOTP) is usually the best balance of security and convenience. For the strongest protection, Nvidia also supports hardware security keys.

2FA methods Nvidia supports

  • Email code
  • Authenticator app (TOTP)
  • Security key (U2F / WebAuthn)

Before you start

  • Your NVIDIA (GeForce NOW) login details
  • Authenticator App - Novaz installed on your iPhone or iPad

    Finish setup

Your NVIDIA account now has multi-factor security. By default NVIDIA only asks for a code when a sign-in looks unusual, such as a new browser. For the strongest protection, set "When will I be asked for the extra factor?" to "Every time I sign in" in the same Security section.

Save a way to recover your account

If Nvidia offers backup or recovery codes, download them or write them down and store them somewhere safe. They are how you get back into your account if you ever lose your phone. If it doesn't, check how Nvidia recovers accounts before you need it.

If something goes wrong

  • NVIDIA won't accept the code: make sure your iPhone's date and time are set automatically, then enter a fresh code.
  • The code expired before you confirmed it: wait for the next code to appear in Authenticator App - Novaz and type that one instead.
  • The QR code won't scan: zoom the browser page, raise your screen brightness, or add the secret key by hand if NVIDIA offers it.
  • You lost your phone: use any recovery option you have for your NVIDIA account, or reach out to NVIDIA support to regain access.

How to recover your Nvidia account

If you lose access to your authenticator and Nvidia gave you backup or recovery codes when you turned on 2FA, sign in with one of them; keep them somewhere safe, away from your phone. Not every service issues codes. If Nvidia doesn't, or you didn't save them, use Nvidia's account-recovery or support process (or ask your admin, for a work account) to get back in.
