    Select the "Safety & Privacy" tab.

    Turn on two-factor authentication

    Scroll to "Advanced Security" and switch on "Use two-factor authentication".

    Confirm your password

    Reddit opens a pop-up asking for your password. Type it in and click "Confirm".

    Keep the QR code on screen

    Reddit now shows a QR code containing your secret key. Leave the page open while you get your iPhone or iPad, and scan your own code rather than the example shown here.

Part 2: Add Reddit to Authenticator App - Novaz

    Scan the QR code with Authenticator App - Novaz

    In Authenticator App - Novaz, tap the + button and point your camera at Reddit's QR code. Prefer typing? You can enter Reddit's 2FA key by hand instead.

    Save the Reddit account

    After the scan, the app adds the Reddit logo and fills in your account name and secret key. Tap Save.

Part 3: Confirm and finish

    Enter the 6-digit code

    With Reddit now saved in Authenticator App - Novaz, type the 6-digit code it currently shows into the Reddit site and click "Complete setup".

    Close the confirmation

    Two-factor authentication is on, so your password alone is no longer enough to get into your Reddit account. Click "OK" to close the window.

    Save a way to recover your account

    If Reddit offers backup or recovery codes, download them or write them down and store them somewhere safe. They are how you get back into your account if you ever lose your phone. If it doesn't, check how Reddit recovers accounts before you need it.

If something goes wrong

  • Reddit rejects the code: make sure your iPhone's date and time are set automatically, then enter a fresh code.
  • The code changed before you clicked Complete setup: wait for the next code in Authenticator App - Novaz and use that one.
  • The QR code won't scan: zoom in on the page or brighten your screen, or type Reddit's 2FA key into the app manually.
  • You lost your phone: use any backup or recovery option you have for your Reddit account, or contact Reddit support for help.

How to recover your Reddit account
