Part 1: Turn on 2FA in TikTok

    Launch TikTok and tap "Profile" at the bottom right. On your profile page, tap the three-line menu icon at the upper right.

    Go to Security

    Tap "Settings and privacy", marked with a gear icon, then pick "Security".

    Turn on 2-step verification

    Tap "2-step verification". Pick two methods, "Password" and "Authenticator app", and then tap "Turn On".

    Screenshot the QR code

    TikTok now shows a QR code containing your secret key. You can't scan a screen with the same phone, so take a screenshot of it and follow the next step to import it. The QR code in this image is a demo; don't scan it.

    Share the screenshot to Authenticator App - Novaz

    Open the screenshot you just took and tap the share icon at the upper right. Find Authenticator App - Novaz in the list of apps and select it.

    Confirm the TikTok account and save

    Once the QR code is read, the app fills in the TikTok logo, account name and secret key for you. Tap "Save" when you're happy with it. Tip: tap the icon if you'd like to pick another one.

Part 3: Confirm and finish

    Paste the code into TikTok

    Copy the TikTok code you just added in Authenticator App - Novaz. Then go back to TikTok and paste it under "Enter verification code".

    Save a way to recover your account

    If TikTok offers backup or recovery codes, download them or write them down and store them somewhere safe. They are how you get back into your account if you ever lose your phone. If it doesn't, check how TikTok recovers accounts before you need it.

If something goes wrong

  • If the app can't read your screenshot, retake it so the entire QR code is visible and nothing covers it.
  • Code not accepted? In your iPhone's Settings, make sure the date and time update automatically, then paste a new code.
  • If the code expired before you pasted it, wait for the next one in the app and copy that.
  • Keep your TikTok password safe too, since it's the other method you turned on for 2-step verification.

How to recover your TikTok account

If you lose access to your authenticator and TikTok gave you backup or recovery codes when you turned on 2FA, sign in with one of them; keep them somewhere safe, away from your phone.
