How to check whether your password has been leaked
Most account takeovers start with a password that leaked somewhere else and was reused. The app checks your saved passwords against known breaches so you find out before an attacker does.
If a password is flagged
- Change the password on that service straight away.
- Use a new password you haven't used anywhere else.
- Update the saved entry in the app.
- Turn on two-factor authentication for that account if it isn't on yet.
- Change it anywhere else you reused the same password.
FAQ
- Does a leak alert mean my account was hacked?
- Not necessarily. It means that password appeared in a breach somewhere, which makes it unsafe to keep using — especially if you reused it.
