How to use the built-in password manager
Two-factor codes protect the second step of a login; a strong, unique password protects the first. Authenticator App includes a password manager so both live in one secure place.
Save your first password
- Open Authenticator App and go to the password section.
- Add an entry with the site, your username, and the password.
- Save it — entries are protected by App Lock along with the rest of the app.
- Repeat for the accounts you sign in to most, starting with your email.
Get warned about leaks
The app can tell you if a stored password has appeared in a known data breach, so you can change it before it's used against you. Treat any alert as a prompt to change that password and check whether 2FA is on for the account.
FAQ
- Is it safe to keep passwords and 2FA codes in one app?
- It's a trade-off. Everything is encrypted on your device and behind App Lock, which is far safer than reusing weak passwords. If you prefer to separate them, you can keep passwords in a different manager and use this app only for codes.
Keep your 2FA codes in one secure place
Authenticator App - Novaz generates your codes offline, backs them up encrypted to your own iCloud, and locks behind Face ID — free and ad-free.
