How to back up your 2FA codes to iCloud
Losing your phone without a backup means re-enrolling every account one by one. Authenticator App can keep an encrypted backup of your accounts in your own iCloud, so a new device restores everything in seconds.
Turn on iCloud backup
- Open Authenticator App and go to its settings.
- Find the backup section and turn on iCloud backup.
- Make sure you're signed in to iCloud on the device and that iCloud Drive is available.
- Wait for the first backup to finish — after that it keeps itself up to date.
Good to know
- The backup is encrypted, so the contents aren't readable by anyone who can't unlock it.
- The backup lives in your own iCloud account — it isn't sent to Novaz.
- A backup is not a substitute for each service's own recovery codes; keep those too.
FAQ
- Can Novaz read my backup?
- No. The backup is encrypted and stored in your personal iCloud account. We never receive your accounts or secret keys.
- What happens if I turn iCloud backup off?
- New changes stop being backed up. Your accounts stay on the device, so keep an export or your services' recovery codes before you wipe or replace the phone.

Authenticator App - Novaz generates your codes offline, backs them up encrypted to your own iCloud, and locks behind Face ID — free and ad-free.
